Repurpurposing Items

I wanted to give a special person a lamp.  However, I wanted it to be unique and I wanted to be able to be a part of making the lamp.

I found a piece of lovely pottery and then used a light kit and purchased a nice shade.

Voila! A nice, one of a kind lamp for a special person!

I also purchased a trough to be a tabletop piece to hold linens.  I absolutely love it and it was under 20.00!

Seattle Staging Whirlwind

I had about two days to stage a three story home.  My boyfriend had been renting his lovely Seattle home and it was time to sell it.  We drove across the country with loads of furniture.  We arrived and within two days a realtor wanted to show it.  We spent a loooong day shopping and then setting it all up.  In the end our efforts were rewarded and they bought the home.  I had one small area (nook) that was challenging.  So, I hung a painting I had just finished painting, along with a chair and lamp. Then I added a nice pillow and a throw and voila.... it was perfect.  The couple liked the nook so much they bought everything in it....including my painting!  I will be posting more photos soon!

We grabbed these two chairs, the pillows and the candle holder all from Home Goods.  We got lucky to find it all so quickly.  I thought it really warmed up the front porch.

Luckily my boyfriend already had a wonderful home and some amazing pieces in it to work with. We just needed to add some nice tabletop decor and other pieces here and there.

Staging for Client in Canyon Lake, TX

This house was fairly empty and needed some warming up. It had lovely hardwood floors and lots of windows so the idea was to emphasize these fabulous features..  It was so much fun to stage it!  The realtor received two offers the first week it was on the market!

Kitchen Transformation

The kitchen was cut up into various rooms, so the walls had to come down.  We took what was a breakfast nook and made it into a keeping room.

Here are some photos....

Guest Bedroom Redo...

The room adjacent to the guest bath received an overhaul as well.  I think it turned out to be a place very cozy for a guest to spend the night!

This former door was transformed with some extra wood and molding.  And NO the guy is not naked holding the door.  He is wearing his shorts.  I promise.

Guest Bath Gets Huge Facelift

Sadly, I do not have any before photos of the room.  There was a wall and a door between the vanity and the tub area.  We knocked that out and framed it.  We added a beadboard ceiling and new travertive floors. Here is the rest of the story.

THE GUEST BATH

This was an old buffet that was in perfect shape which I bought for a steal at a local antique market. With some adjustments we were able to add the sink, faucet and plumbing, while still saving space to utilize most all of the doors and drawers. I purchased the buffet at a an antique store for 250.00.  Now you can't beat that with a stick!

We added the new bathtub and toilet (I love the flusher being on top).  The tile was cut down from 12x12 botticcino marble tile to 6x12.  I have to say it looks so much better in person. The tile has subtle hints of sea green and gold along with subtle veining. It may be difficult to see but we also used beadboard on the bath basin.  The same as we used on the ceiling.

The faucet was a steal from overstock.com and it was heavy and very well made and fit the space perfectly.

Austin Home

This house had great bones but it needed some serious tlc.  So, I made it my home by doing just that...
